Under Law 14/2013, of 27 September, on support for entrepreneurs and their internationalization, you may obtain a residence visa, and after that a residence permit, if you invest in setting up a business venture in Spain.

This visa is aimed at investors who present a business project to be developed in Spain that is considered and accredited as being of general interest, such as those that intend to enter and stay in Spain for a period of one year with the sole or principal purpose to carry out the procedures to be able to develop an entrepreneurial activity.There is no minimum investment amount required, but the business must be considered of public interest, by means of job creation, or impact in the geographical area where it will be carried out, or provide a relevant contribution to technological or scientific innovation.The residence visa is valid for 1 year, during which you may apply for a temporary residence permit, which will be valid for 5 years provided that you still keep the investment. Your spouse and your unmarried dependent children may be included in the application.

Requirements

Not be in Spain with irregular immigration status.
– Be over 18 years old.
– Lack of criminal record in Spain and in the countries where you have resided in the last 5 years, for crimes foreseen in the Spanish legal system.
– Have public insurance or private health insurance arranged with an insurer authorized to operate in Spain.
– Sufficient financial resources for yourself and your family members during your period of residence in Spain (monthly income of €2,130, and additional €533 per dependent).
– Have a favorable report from the Economic and Trade Office of the Spanish Embassy of your country of current residence

Investment Options

The Spanish Golden Visa Program offers a range of investment options such as purchasing a property for least of €500,000, or making a bank deposit of a minimum of €1,000,000, or investing €1,000,000 in business, or €2,000,000 in government bonds. The most popular option is a real estate investment into property in Spain as an alternative residence in the Mediterranean to enjoy with the family. The investment always remains yours and can be released after 5 years. Minimum Investment period – 5 years. In order to keep and renew your residence permit, you will need to ensure that you maintain your investments. If your main objective is to obtain permanent residency in Spain, once obtained, you can release your investments.
